About us
I am Viktor Vasilev and started the accounting practice in 2012. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics and a master’s degree in Finance. I am a Chartered Financial Analyst and a licensed Enrolled Agent. As a principal and owner, I make sure that everyone in the team is constantly working towards achieving excellent results and is committed to our clients’ success.
Professional Certifications
Professional certifications improve our subject matter knowledge and shape who we are, as they take commitment and hard work to achieve. My personal choice was to pursue the CFA certification, because it includes a broader perspective on accounting, statistics, finance, and investments. I also worked towards achieving my Enrolled Agent certificate as taxes has always been one of my passions and I wanted to improve my knowledge and capabilities.
There are a few financial professional designations that are valuable for any accountant.
The CPA is the most popular one and it gives professionals authority over financial statements verification. They usually work as outside assurance consultants and perform audits and reviews to company’s accountant work.
The CFA designation is really popular among portfolio managers and people working in the investment industry, as it trains people to think analytically about finance, investing and how businesses operate. Most CFA charter holders work for investment banks or buy-side funds doing analysis on companies and securities.
The EA certification is created by the IRS and is used to demonstrate one’s knowledge of the US tax code. As an Enrolled Agent a person can prepare and file taxes for clients and represent them before the IRS. EAs usually work for tax firms.
CFP – A certified financial planner works with individuals to help them understand their options and make financial decisions suited to their personal financial situation and goals.
CMA – This certification trains people to become accounting managers in large companies. It does not provide ability to attest to financial reports or file taxes as CPA does.
Our clients
Our practice has served clients in a few different industries. We have business clients in the retail field which requires inventory tracking and costing, gross margin calculations, and pricing strategy adaptation. We also have clients in the manufacturing industries. Although they largely exhibit a similar scope of requirements, they also need to better segregate and track manufacturing costs in order to accurately see changes in the various costs affecting the manufacturing process. We also serve consultants, other professional service providers, contractors and high-tech companies. Regardless of the goals our small business clients are trying to achieve, we always work towards understanding their business and partnering with them to deliver not only accurate accounting reporting, but also valuable business insights and actionable financial advice.
